Schofield Open

Schofield Pass no doubt opened up last weekend, but we didn’t get up there on account of all the rain we’ve been getting. Got it this weekend. Wheeled over to Crested Butte on Saturday, back today. Lots of traffic, many types of recreationists. Fourx4, ATV, hike, bicycle, motorcycle. Everyone seemed to be getting along. Remember on the narrow sections it’s not a bad idea for crowded days to send a walker on ahead with a radio. If they encounter someone coming the other way, they can coordinate a bypass. This technique is especially useful on the Punchbowl Cut section of the road. And a couple of other long narrow sections between Crystal and the top of the Punchbowl section.
